We are seeking a dynamic Manager - Sport Massey based on our Manawatū Campus to lead and grow our sport and recreation initiatives, supporting our ākonga and kaimahi across all campuses and in the wider community.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About this role
As the Manager - Sport Massey, you will lead the coordination and delivery of the Sport Massey framework. You will be responsible for promoting sporting activities, managing University sports, and celebrating the sporting achievements of our ākonga and kaimahi.
This role is pivotal in building strong internal and external relationships - you'll work closely with colleges, fitness and recreation centres, national and regional sports organisations, schools, Councils, sporting clubs, iwi, and community groups.
We are looking for someone with strong planning and execution skills, who is able to document, schedule, and deliver initiatives effectively. A familiarity with the Manawatū region and established networks in sports organisations, schools, and local Councils, would be a significant advantage.
You will be part of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students and Global Engagement (SaGE), a portfolio dedicated to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and enriching student experience.
The salary band for this position is $96,565 - $129,699 based on skills and experience.

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong coordination and organisational ability, with a "can-do" attitude and a commitment to delivering what you promise
- Experience in the sport, recreation, or community sectors at an operational or leadership level
- Familiarity with the Manawatū sporting landscape and established local networks (highly desirable)
- Alignment with Massey's commitment to being a Te Tiriti-led organisation, respecting Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori in your work
- Proven team leadership and a passion for supporting the growth of people and programmes
- A tertiary qualification in business, sport management, or a related field is essential
