The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Coordinator to join our Marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career marketing professional looking to build their experience across campaign support and delivery, social media, content creation, design and event support.
Working alongside experienced marketing professionals, you will support the planning and delivery of marketing activities that increase awareness, engagement, and understanding of TEC initiatives and programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Coordination
- Assist with the development and execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across the business/project groups to foster effective marketing planning and support.
- Support stakeholder engagement and event coordination by liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Support the planning, promotion and delivery of events.
- Assist the marketing team in creating and delivering engaging social media content and email marketing communications.
- Create and update simple marketing materials using tools such as Canva or Adobe to design basic branded assets.
- Ensure all creative materials align with TEC branding standards.
- Support and coordinate with external designers and agencies when required.
Reporting and Administration
- Monitor campaign performance and prepare basic reports using website, social media, and email marketing analytics.
- Maintain and manage marketing asset catalogue and shared resources.
- Support general administrative tasks related to marketing activities.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about marketing, creative, organised and eager to learn.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Understanding of core marketing principles and digital marketing channels.
- Experience managing or contributing to social media platforms such as Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite tools to create visual content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within a team.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Campaign Monitor or similar.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting.
- Experience creating short-form video content for social media.
- Understanding of accessibility principles.

- Marketing activities and campaign support are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Events are delivered efficiently and are supported to achieve their objectives.
- Social media content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with TEC objectives.
- Marketing collateral consistently reflects TEC's brand identity.
- Stakeholders receive responsive and professional support.
- Reporting provides useful insights to improve future marketing activity.

- We support flexible working arrangements, while expecting team members to be in the office at least three days per week to enable collaboration. As this is a Wellington-based role, we're unable to consider candidates who cannot meet this requirement.
The recruitment range for this position is $63,492 to $74,697 + 3.5% KiwiSaver, depending on demonstrable skills and experience (appointments will be made based on the skills you bring to the role)
