24-7 YouthWork Trust has secured funding for a new project to support the development of children’s work in Aotearoa New Zealand. The initial stage includes scoping the development of a national Code of Ethics for Children’s Work, involving research, consultation and co-design to explore a shared ethical foundation for those working with tamariki.
As part of this work, we are looking for a Kaiārahi to work alongside the Project Lead and Advisory Group. The Kaiārahi will provide cultural guidance and mentoring, helping ensure the development process honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is meaningfully shaped by tikanga, mātauranga Māori and Māori perspectives.
The person we are seeking will bring a strong foundation in Te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori, experience supporting bicultural or Te Tiriti-honouring development, and an ability to build authentic relationships across diverse communities. You’ll be a thoughtful communicator and mentor who can work collaboratively, bring a distinctly Māori perspective to the kaupapa, and constructively challenge our thinking when needed.
This is an eight-month independent contractor engagement, averaging approximately five hours per week. Hours will vary across the engagement in response to hui, travel and project needs, and some weeks may involve little or no work.
