Mō Manatū Wāhine - About Manatū Wāhine
Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women is the Government’s principal advisor on improving the lives of wāhine women and kōtiro girls in Aotearoa New Zealand. We provide system leadership, working across government and with stakeholders to improve outcomes for wāhine women and kōtiro girls.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About this role
This is a policy role that focuses on identifying opportunities for women to participate fully and effectively in the economy and tactically analyses where to focus effort. The work requires you to identify early in the policy process who needs to be engaged with and to design policy options that are evidence-based and user-centred.
It requires a tactical and on-the-ground approach to engagement, and the ability to work collaboratively with others to design and iteratively test policy and delivery options in our focus areas of strategic focus.
This role will work closely with the other members of the policy and engagement teams, and across the Ministry.
Ko koe tēnei - About you
To be successful in this role you will be seasoned in policy work with an interest in designing, delivering, and testing policy options.
You will also bring the following:
- A sound foundation in policy advice and analysis
- Good strategic and tactical nous
- Real strength and interest in engaging with our partners
- Experience developing and designing policy options
- Excellent writing skills and experienced in ministerial advice
You will also have a sound understanding, of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be able to apply this within the work that you do.
