About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga
Join us in this fixed-term, full-time role where you'll build strong partnerships, drive sector-wide integration, and help deliver responsive, community-focused support and services.
The Senior Analyst supports the Manager, Integration and Oversight, contributing sector supports, reporting, measurement and analytics expertise to support systems process changes, programme delivery and implementation operational support reporting, plan and manage work across Te Mahau and Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga and support the operationalisation of the master schedule/termly calendar across Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga.
Working with the wider Te Tāhuhu team, you will support the maintenance of a national overview of the activities being delivered and provide clarity around the pipeline of work for change programmes across Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga. You will support the oversight function which seeks to bring clarity to the various initiatives across the ministry through data analytics (qualitative and quantitative), research and reporting.
Salary range: $99,496 - $120,690 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Analyst to help drive continuous improvement and deliver meaningful insights across a complex public sector environment. You will bring strong analytical expertise, with a proven track record in leading change initiatives, interpreting data to inform decision-making, and building effective partnerships that influence outcomes at scale.
You will be confident navigating large systems, with deep knowledge of business analysis, performance reporting, and change management. Your ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups, including regional teams and policy leaders, will be key to identifying opportunities and supporting delivery that drives greater equity and better public outcomes.
With experience in tools such as Salesforce, PowerBI and Atlassian, you bring a practical and forward-thinking approach to innovation and improvement. You are a strong communicator, systems-thinker and relationship builder who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
You will also offer the ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Te Pae Aronui has a critical role to play in supporting a proactive and future-focused Te Tāhuhu that delivers on equity and excellence for all ākonga - people are thriving, connections are strong, the system is sound, and we are producing equitable outcomes for ākonga and whānau. This is an exciting opportunity to make some real, positive change in education of our ākonga.
The Sector Change and Implementation Group is part of Te Pae Aronui - the Operations and Integration Group inside the Ministry of Education. Te Pae Aronui connects people, knowledge, services and regulatory processes to help shape an inclusive education system. We use our functions and capabilities collectively to shape and influence the direction of education in Aotearoa New Zealand by gathering insights, regulation, providing service design and delivery functions and understanding ākonga and whānau, communities and businesses
The Sector Change and Implementation Group supports Te Tāhuhu (Ministry of Education) to successfully implement initiatives, services and policies that impact the Education sector, our frontline takiwā (regional) staff and ākonga and whānau. We partner with our takiwā colleagues to understand local context and priorities, and to support their leadership of successful change in the sector.
The Integration and Oversight Team supports Te Tāhuhu with major and critical programmes delivering change into Te Mahau and the sector. We provide oversight, coordination and provide a feedback loop for local and regional intelligence to ensure the successful implementation of services, supports and policies.
