Do you enjoy working across business units to deliver quality work? We're looking for a skilled and strategic Senior Management Accountant to join our, Financial and Business Performance Group. This is a key role providing high-quality financial advice, reporting, and analysis to support decision-making across the organisation.
He angitūtanga: What will you be doing?
You'll lead the preparation of operating budgets and forecasts, deliver insightful monthly reporting, and support strategic and business planning. You'll also play a vital role in project accounting, financial training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare, analyze and deliver annual operating budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic and business planning.
- Lead month-end processing and variance analysis.
- Deliver financial reports to Board-level standard.
- Provide financial training and support to managers and internal customers.
- Evaluate financial requirements for new projects and support business case development.
- Provide financial advice and reporting on operating and capital projects.

We're seeking someone who is not only technically strong but also a great communicator and collaborator. You'll be confident working with a range of internal stakeholders, including non-financial managers, and bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach. You'll be comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity and enjoy contributing to continuous improvement and strategic thinking.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and Chartered Accountant status (CAANZ or equivalent).
- Proven experience preparing operating and capital budgets.
- Strong knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act.
- Strong project accounting experience across capital and operational budgets.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, especially with non-accountants.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, SUMIF, lookups).
- Experience with mid-size financial systems (TechnologyOne preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management.
